Many people begin using drugs or alcohol as a way to cope with stress, boredom, peer or family pressure, difficult emotions, or other uncomfortable experiences. Learning how to handle these triggers in healthy ways is often a big step forward in the recovery process.
The same is true for people with anxiety disorders, depression, or other mental health disorders, whose symptoms may be triggered by stress and other difficult experiences.
While much of this learning will take place during psychoeducation or one-on-one and group therapy sessions at Bedrock, we also offer a wide variety of recreation and wellness activities for discovering and building new, healthy coping skills.
Outdoor Spaces
Our expansive outdoor patio and lounge area offers an opportunity to get outside and enjoy the views of BRC’s lushly forested property. A pergola offers a covered area to sit and socialize with peers, read a book, or just relax. Get some exercise picking up a game of HORSE or just shooting some hoops on our basketball court, or challenge someone to a friendly game of ping-pong or cornhole.
Fitness Center
Our fully equipped fitness center and gym provides a wide range of physical and wellness activities to participate in. This includes studio fitness classes led by certified instructors and the use of treadmills, ellipticals, weights, and other equipment.
Yoga, a practice that provides physical and mental health benefits, including improved mood and cognitive skills, according to Harvard Health, is also provided in a class format here.
Movie Theater And Recreation Rooms
Kick your feet up and enjoy a feature film in our onsite movie theater, offering comfortable recliner chairs. Movies are scheduled for each residential unit weekly.
Other fun activities available include karaoke, foosball, arts and crafts, and game nights.
