The mental health unit at Bedrock Recovery Center is a separate unit from our other rehabilitation programs.

This unit provides a variety of therapeutic options as well as medication management to help develop the most effective treatment plan for each client.

Anxiety

Anxiety is a natural reaction that helps people cope with challenges by heightening alertness and preparing the body to respond.

However, when anxiety becomes excessive, prolonged, or disproportionate to the situation, it can interfere with daily life, leading to an anxiety disorder.

At Bedrock, we offer treatment for people experiencing anxiety through evidence-based therapies such as cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), support groups, and medication.

Depression

Depression, also known as major depressive disorder (MDD), is a mental health condition characterized by persistent feelings of sadness, hopelessness, and a lack of interest in activities.

It goes beyond the normal fluctuations in mood that everyone experiences and can significantly impact a person’s daily functioning, relationships, and overall well-being.

Biological factors may also contribute to depression. For example, imbalances in neurotransmitters and genetics can increase the risk of developing depressive disorders.

At Bedrock, we use integrated treatment approaches that give our clients the best possible chance at long-term recovery.

Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD)

Post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) is a mental health condition that can develop in individuals who have experienced or witnessed a traumatic event.

It is common for people with PTSD to experience flashbacks, severe insomnia, irritability, and a tendency to engage in risky behaviors as a form of distraction.

PTSD can sometimes lead to emotional numbness or a sense of detachment. These symptoms are just as capable of disrupting important relationships in the affected person’s life.

At Bedrock, we use integrated treatment approaches, including therapy, counseling, and support groups. In some cases, eye movement reprocessing and desensitization (EMDR) may be appropriate.

Bipolar Disorder

Bipolar disorder is a mental health condition characterized by extreme mood swings or episodes of mania and depression.

These episodes can make the individual behave in unpredictable ways and cause the person to simultaneously deal with the fallout of manic episodes and the despair of depression.

Bipolar disorder can be difficult to treat, as medication adherence can be challenging. That is why the clinical team at Bedrock uses adaptive medication management and psychotherapy.

Treatment plans will change in response to assessments to ensure that each client experiences minimal side effects and positive responses to therapy.

Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder (OCD)

Obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD) is a mental health condition characterized by persistent, unwanted thoughts and repetitive behaviors or mental acts.

These obsessions and compulsions can significantly interfere with daily activities, relationships, and overall quality of life.

At Bedrock, our goal is to help people reduce the impact of obsessive thoughts and compulsive behaviors in a healthy, sustainable way.

Our treatment programs for OCD typically involve a combination of medication and behavioral therapy, such as cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), alongside supportive therapies like group therapy.

We also put an emphasis on mindfulness techniques and on teaching our clients to make healthy lifestyle changes to complement our other treatment approaches.

Schizophrenia

Schizophrenia is a chronic mental health disorder characterized by disruptions in thought processes, emotions, and perceptions of reality.

People living with schizophrenia often require medication to help them maintain a functional daily life, including steady employment and healthy relationships with family and friends.

As a result, our plans combine evidence-based interventions for schizophrenia, such as medication management, psychotherapy, and psychosocial support, with specialized therapies.

Additionally, coordinated care from our multidisciplinary team helps provide holistic support and promote the best possible outcomes for individuals facing this complex diagnosis.

Conditions That May Require More Intense Care

There are certain conditions that may require more intense care than we can provide at Bedrock, including primary eating disorders, high risk suicide cases, and homicidal ideation.

In these instances, we may refer patients to another, more specialized facility for further treatment.

Furthermore, while we are equipped to treat people with auditory hallucinations, there may be some clients who require more advanced care as well.

If you have questions about our facility and whether we handle your specific condition, please don’t hesitate to reach out directly and talk to our team.
