We also offer a variety of group classes such as POUND, Zumba, yoga, and meditation. We host these classes five days a week, providing options for clients with different preferences and abilities.
POUND
POUND is a group exercise class that combines cardio, strength training, and drumming into a full-body workout.
The workout uses lightly weighted drumsticks called Ripstix, which add a resistance element by engaging various muscle groups such as the arms, shoulders, and legs.
At Bedrock Recovery Center, our POUND fitness classes are led by instructors and set to music, creating a rhythmic and energetic atmosphere.
Participants follow the beat of the music while performing drumming patterns and coordinated movements. The music not only adds to the fun, but it also helps participants stay on pace.
POUND fitness classes are designed to be inclusive and adaptable for people of various fitness levels. Participants can adjust the intensity of their movements based on their own abilities.
Yoga
Our Bedrock Recovery Center yoga classes include a variety of physical poses designed to promote strength, flexibility, and balance.
During class, instructors provide verbal cues to guide participants through different sequences. They may also demonstrate poses to help students understand the proper technique.
Classes incorporate meditation practices aimed at calming the mind, promoting mindfulness, and cultivating a deep sense of inner peace.
Our Bedrock yoga instructors offer modifications to accommodate students with different levels of experience or flexibility. This inclusivity ensures that the practice is accessible to everyone.
By integrating yoga alongside meditation into our rehabilitation programs, we help address the physical, mental, and emotional aspects of recovery.
Zumba
The Zumba classes offered at Bedrock Recovery Center feature dance-based workouts that incorporate various styles, including salsa, merengue, and hip-hop.
The choreography is designed to be easy to follow, making it accessible for people who don’t have any dance experience.
Zumba is known for its cardiovascular benefits. The dance routines involve continuous, rhythmic movements that elevate the heart rate, promoting heart health and calorie burning.
Our Zumba instructors make classes lighthearted and enjoyable, with an emphasis on having fun while exercising. Many clients find the upbeat nature of Zumba a motivating way to stay active.
As with all our programs at Bedrock, Zumba classes can be adapted to different fitness levels, making it suitable for beginners as well as more experienced exercisers.
Meditation
Meditation can offer several benefits for individuals in addiction recovery by addressing various aspects of physical, mental, and emotional well-being.
At Bedrock Recovery Center, our meditation classes are led by an instructor who offers verbal cues to help participants navigate their postures, breathing techniques, and mental focus.
Our guided meditation classes also incorporate relaxation techniques to help participants release tension and achieve a state of calm. These may include body scan exercises or visualization.
Meditation gives people a healthy coping mechanism that doesn’t involve substance use, and learning to turn to meditation in times of stress can replace unhealthy habits associated with addiction.
